Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How is Level Up Martial Arts different from other Martial Arts schools?

A: While most schools focus on just teaching the techniques of Martial Arts, Level Up Martial Arts concentrates on the life skills and leadership traits of the Martial Arts. Of course, our students do develop exceptional skill in all areas of technique. More importantly, they develop key skills that they can put to use outside of the studio. Skills like: Self-Confidence, Self-Control, and Positive Thinking; Listening Skills, Respect and Good Manners. The ability to Focus Attention; Perseverance and Courage. Additionally, ours is a family based teaching system.

Q: What ages do you work with?

A: Your entire family is encouraged to train together in the same class. Our youngest students are 5 and we even have students in their 60’s and 70’s.

Q: Will Taekwondo make my children more aggressive or violent?

A: At Level Up Martial Arts, children are taught that the Martial Arts are not to be used in aggression, but rather to defend oneself in problematic situations. Aggressive behavior is channeled into assertiveness to increase your child’s self-esteem, self discipline and build character. Our program also helps shy children to develop self confidence and become more socially assertive to make it easier to build lasting friendships. The Level Up Martial arts instructors are gentle and caring individuals. Through their example, our students learn to live peacefully with others.

Q: Will I get hurt?

A: Not a chance! Nobody is going to punch you, kick you, nor throw you to the ground. The rules of safety are always observed in our classroom.

Q: Can I invite someone to class as my guest?

A: Absolutely as a matter of fact this is exactly how we have so many families who take class together, by friends inviting friends to class. Family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers and even your children’s classmates are all welcome to enjoy a trial membership as your guest. All you have to do is ask at the front desk.
